Virginia Rivard is a tender mother of two and a high school English teacher.  She is well-read, well-bred, and always exquisitely coiffed and elegantly dressed.  She lives in a corner of southeastern Massachusetts, where, in addition to reading and writing, she watches birds, primarily those whose habits and plummage are worthy of her.  Sadly, only a lucky few can meet her in the flesh, and most of them need to wrest themselves from the grip of adolescence in order to appreciate her grace, wisdom, and sophistication.  The rest of us will have to reconcile ourselves with these stunning products of her odd but engaging mind.

Ms. Rivard graduated from Smith College and the writing program at Warren Wilson College.  It is to the latter institution her stories owe their craft, to the former, their cunning.
